Now here is where your child may teach you a few things about using your imagination.  Kindermusik Imagine That! pairs music with expressive language, storytelling, peer interaction, movement and pretend play.  With all this interaction, your child will further expand his/her cognitive and literacy skills as well as creativity and individuality.  This learning continues at home with the At-Home Materials.
Child will attend most of this class by him/herself.  For some children, being in class without a parent is a new experience.  We encourage the parent to let the child stay in class alone, but the parent is free to stay in class until the child is ready to try it alone.  A parent or adult caregiver must be present to join class for the last 15 minutes each week--Sharing Time.  Siblings are welcome to join class during Sharing Time.

Spring 2012: Toys I Make~Trips I Take
What's more exciting to a 3, 4 or 5 year-old than a
new toy? How about an entire Toy Shop full of toys!
A remarkable toy shop, filled with boats, trains, balls,
jack-in-the-box, and many other toys is exactly what
your child will enjoy. While activities are centered on
a child's pretend play and imagination, the unit firmly
integrates the learning process by placing a strong
musical emphasis on singing, steady beat, and
ensemble, as well as rhythm and rhythmic patterns.
The two literature books are Tippity Tippity Too and
If I Had a Big Blue Boat.
Home Materials include:  Imagine That! backpack (*1st semester of IT only),
2 CDs, 2 literature books, Home Activity Book, drum and Toy Shop playset
Fall 2013: See What I Saw
Your child will enjoy the many wonders of a trip
to Grasshopper Park. The music represents a
variety of different cultures with songs from Ghana,
Latin America, Greece, and France. You will find
some favorites including “Ha Ha This-a-Way,”
“Jim Along Josie,” “Mr. Sun,” “A Tisket, A Tasket,”
“Shoo-Fly,” and “Allee Galloo.” There are also
many new, original compositions like the chant
“Everything is Just Fine.” The two literature books
are The Ant Picnic Feast and Can You Find Me?
Home Materials include:  Imagine That! backpack (*1st semester of IT only), 2 CDs, 2 literature books, Home Activity Book, lummi sticks, slide whistle and Grasshopper Park playset
Spring 2013: Cities~Busy Places, Friendly Faces
This unit transports your child into a city, where
ordinary sounds and sights on the street make
a musical ensemble. People shuffle their feet to
a 4/4 beat. Street musicians serenade and sing.
Clock towers boom, bellow, and ring. The class
will create a city that's familiar, yet like no other.
Using visual tools and home activities, children
will transform the classroom, build a city out of
handcrafted "buildings" and walk down sidewalks
made of masking tape and freezer paper. The two
literature books are Razupatu Toto and Down Our Street.
Home Materials include:  Imagine That! backpack (*1st semester of IT only), 2 CDs, 2 literature books, Home Activity Book, 2 resonator bars and Cities game
